I enjoyed your way of storytelling and how you made such a devastating story a little more positive. Your presentation was very meaningful and captivating. The way your parents did not let the terrible things that they endured determine their future is truly inspiring. Your parents were very strong and courageous people and their story makes me want to strive to be better. By hearing your parents’ personal experiences, you shifted my view on the Holocaust. I appreciate how you reminded us that the hate against Jewish people still continues today.
Something from your presentation that I found interesting was the video of your mom speaking about what went on and what she experienced during that time. To think she was actually there and witnessing all of those things is crazy to me, and it is so inspiring that she lived through all of that to be able to talk about it. Another thing from your presentation that stunned me was when you talked about the fact that for a long time after the Holocaust, your parents still had nightmares and would wake up screaming. This really shows that the Holocaust was not only bad for the people that died, but just as terrible for the survivors.
I thought it was interesting that when the Holocaust ended your parents went back to see what was left. I don’t think I’d be brave enough to go back. I now understand how horrible the Holocaust was. No person should have gone through that.
Thank you for sharing such an emotional and impacting story with our school. We hope you will be successful in reaching other people with this message of how your parents survived the Holocaust and share the story with everyone you can.
